Ferrets are notoriously difficult to please when it comes to their food, so many people struggle to keep them at a healthy weight. They also have a very fast metabolism, which just adds complexity to the situation. Top 9 Ferret Foods

9. Kaytee Forti Diet Pro

Kaytee Forti Diet Pro is made with pieces of various shapes and sizes, so it intrigues curious animals and can strengthen their teeth. The recipe relies on natural preservatives to prolong its shelf life, though it uses artificial colors to give the kibble its appearance.

8. Farnam Sheppard and Greene Adult

Nothing was overlooked in the development of Farnam Sheppard and Greene Adult. Its unique blend of ingredients reduces unwanted litter box smells, and the small, but crunchy, kibble has a texture that most love to nibble on.

7. Marshall Premium

Marshall Premium comes from a business owned by a family that has been raising mischief-loving mustelids for several decades, so they know a thing or two about what these creatures need. The formula contains omega-3 for heart health and is suitable for animals of all ages.

6. Marshall Senior

If you have an older animal that is over the age of four, it is important you give it the right balance of protein, fat, and nutrients for its stage of life, which is exactly what Marshall Senior does. It is also suitable for overweight and less active pets.

5. Marshall Select

The formula in Marshall Select is cooked slowly to allow each ingredient to maintain its optimal nutritional profile. If you add water or an oil supplement to the hard pellets, they quickly become soft enough for animals with sensitive teeth.

4. Mazuri Complete

Ferrets’ bodies aren’t capable of storing taurine, so they need food like Mazuri Complete that adds this essential amino acid. This formula can keep the muscles of your furry friend in top condition, enabling plenty of running and playing.

3. Wysong Epigen 90

As many owners know, these tiny creatures have digestive tracts that can pass food in as little as three to four hours. Wysong Epigen 90 was designed with your pet’s active intestines in mind, with strengthening prebiotics and probiotics.

2. Wysong Archetype

Your furry friend’s cute nose will be twitching when he smells Wysong Archetype. This raw formula is about as pure as you can get, and because it is freeze-dried, it takes up less space than most foods. Simply mix in water to rehydrate it.

1. ZuPreem Premium

ZuPreem Premium boasts chicken meal, rather than any binders, as its first ingredient, which is a sign of quality. It also doesn’t contain any corn, which can upset the stomachs of some animals. Its formula offers a balanced set of vitamins and minerals.
